Harrogate District Local Plan Main Modifications Consultation
As you may know, the Harrogate District Local Plan (Publication Draft) was submitted for examination on the 31st August 2018. Following the hearing sessions earlier this year, necessary changes to make the plan sound have been identified and will be published for consultation within the ‘Schedule of Main Modifications’. The responses to this consultation will be considered by the Planning Inspector as part of the ongoing examination process.
Harrogate Borough Council will publish its Schedule of Main Modifications and invite formal representations on it for consideration by the Planning Inspector. The consultation begins on Friday 26 July 2019 and finishes at 4.30pm on Friday 6 September 2019.
Further Changes in Parish Council Personnel
Following the recent resignation of Councillor Neil Horton, to take up the position of Clerk to the Council, and the subsequent 21 day Notice of Vacancy, we are pleased to welcome Derek Kenningham of Halesfield, Main Street, Staveley to the Parish Council as a co-opted member for Staveley. This co-option now means that the Council has its full complement of members again.
New Planning Enforcements Website Page
A new page has been added to the Parish Council website to track planning enforcement investigations in the Copgrove and Staveley parishes. The Parish Council has no statutory responsibility with regard to planning enforcements but can raise requests for investigation, as can any individual, to be carried out by the Local Planning Authority (LPA), Harrogate Borough Council. Investigations are undertaken when there is an alleged breach of planning regulations.

Fireworks
The Parish Council would like to ask residents to please advise their neighbours if they plan to have a fireworks event at any time, not just the 5th November. This will give neighbours the time to make any necessary arrangements for pets that are unsettled by the sight and sound of such an event.
