Newsletter No. 27
Hi *|FNAME|*,
Welcome to our September 2020 newsletter. We hope you are keeping safe and well. The following news items have been posted on our website recently and we would like to bring them to your attention here:
Hedge Improvement
Following on from the maintenance work that took place within the Jubilee Recreation Field Staveley and around the pinfold it is now time to improve the hedge along the roadside and infill further areas around the boundaries.
Currently the hedge is full of dead wood and ivy, this needs to be removed ahead of planting the new saplings we are being given by the Woodland Trust.
Please can you help? On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th October we would like a working party to help prepare for planting.
Full social distancing will be in place (hence the two day approach), and all equipment used will need to be provided by the volunteer themselves.
Anyone willing and able to help in any way, from grubbing out, cutting, carrying or keeping an eye to ensure social distancing please get in touch. It should only be a couple of hours at the most (based on more than just me doing the work), in order to keep a log of attendees and contact details I will need to know in advance who is coming.
Looking forward to seeing you then

Village Benches
Through all the ups and downs of the last few months it has been lovely to see people out and about enjoying our wonderful location or simply watching the world go quietly by whilst sitting on one of our benches. Through the next week or so, subject to weather, all the benches in our villages will be given a refurbishment so please bare with us in the meantime as we are sure once complete they will look splendid again.
Buddy Scheme
Prior to the start of the pandemic affecting all our lives we, in Staveley, were able to establish a buddy scheme. The scheme is designed to offer assistance to any household within the community.
Although we are no longer in lockdown there are still households in need and there are still volunteers ready and willing to help with shopping, medicine collection, company and general support.
If you are a household which would benefit from support please get in touch with Helen North either via email at helen.north@staveleyandcopgrovepc.org.uk or call 01423 340650

You can pre-order your plants before you visit using our click and collect service by visiting the website.
