A few quick updates from the Parish Council:

Public Meeting

The Parish Council has called an open meeting in the Staveley and Copgrove Village Hall on Wednesday 15th May 2019 at 7:30pm to discuss the development proposal for the building of 13 dwellings on land off Main Street, Staveley (known as site SV2).  Households in Staveley village have been, or will be shortly, informed of the meeting by leaflet drop.  All residents are invited to attend the meeting to express their views on the proposed development, whether in support or opposition.  A copy of the leaflet is available here.


Delevopment Proposal for Site SV2

Planning and Development Consultants Johnson Mowat have commenced a pre planning application consultation exercise, on behalf of property developers Jack Lunn (Properties), with regard to land off Main Street, Staveley (site SV2) for the erection of 13 dwellings. Leaflets detailing the proposal have been delivered to residents living in the vicinity of the site.

Parish Clerk Vacancy

The Parish Council has an upcoming vacancy for a Parish Clerk / Responsible Financial Officer. If you know of anyone who may be interested in the post, details are available here. You can request an application pack which contains a job description, information about the role, salary details and an application form. The closing date for return of completed applications is Friday 14th June 2019. Interviews will be held week commencing 24th June 2019.


Neighbourhood Plan Designated

At a meeting on 23rd April 2019, Harrogate Borough Council (HBC) approved the Parish Council’s application for designation of the Staveley and Copgrove Neighbourhood Plan. The proposed plan area of both Copgrove and Staveley civil parishes was approved along with the Parish Council’s statement of suitability for the plan production.

22/23 Bus Service Changes

From Monday 29th April 2019 the 22/23 York Transdev service that passes through Copgrove and Staveley (previously known as the Little Explorer) will no longer travel between Knaresborough and Harrogate. The service from York will terminate at Knaresborough Bus Station and the service to York will start at Knaresborough Bus Station.

Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group Meeting

The next meeting of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group will be on Wednesday 29th May 2019 at 7pm in the Staveley and Copgrove Village Hall. The meeting is open to the public.


Finance Sub Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the Finance Sub Committee will be on Tuesday 21st May 2019 at 7pm in the Staveley and Copgrove Village Hall. The meeting is open to the public and will discuss the internal audit in preparation for the Annual Return.
