Hi *|FNAME|*,

A few quick updates from the Parish Council:

‘Get Digital’ – Make a difference, become a Digital Champion

Technology is evolving all the time but keeping pace can be a challenge. We know lots of people like new gadgets, but for some, the move to online and doing things digitally is a worry. It can leave some people feeling isolated or vulnerable.

Across the Harrogate District, we are aware that there is still a significant percentage of our residents who don’t have any digital skills. That’s why we are working with the digital inclusion charity Citizens Online to improve residents’ basic digital skills and confidence to access online opportunities and services across the district. Our ambition is to assist anyone who isn’t currently able to take full advantage of technology, because of a lack of confidence or skills.

Grant Topup Appeal

Earlier this year the Parish Council applied for various grants from the Allerton Park Landscape & Cultural Heritage Fund. This Fund assists with projects which enhance the landscape, cultural heritage and biodiversity in the area around the Allerton Waste Recovery Park and is administered by the Two Ridings Community Foundation.

The projects we proposed for funding around the village included clearing and tidying up the Recreation Field and Pinfold area. Adding a new hedge, infilling the current hedgerow and planting some trees together with putting a gate on the Pinfold. We also applied to replace the dead tree on the village green outside the pub with an oak.

Once the weather improves the phone box, which houses the village defibrillator, can have a complete overhaul too.

Making the Harrogate district an even better place to live, work and visit

Harrogate Borough Council needs your help!

The Harrogate district is an amazing part of the country and we all have our own reasons why we choose to live in, work in or visit the area.

We have a lot of great things to shout about in the Harrogate district, but we believe more needs to be done to raise the profile of the area and promote it even further. For that reason, we are working with an organisation called Thinkingplace, to develop a ‘place story’ and brand for the district which we can all use to make potential investors, workers and visitors aware of what we offer. This will play a big part in helping to attract more visitors, secure more investment and ensure we have a vibrant future.

We want to hear from you and there are different ways that you can tell us what you think makes the Harrogate district special, how you feel about the area, and how you might like it to develop in the future.

By filling in the online survey.

Don’t miss this opportunity to have your say in how we show the world what makes Harrogate and district special. If you have any questions or would like further information please contact either Kathryn Daly kathryn.daly@harrogate.gov.uk on 01423 500600 (ext 56054) or Sue Brandom susan.brandom@harrogate.gov.uk on 01423 500600 (ext 58058).
