Many of you may have noticed, whether consciously or not, that there is now very little speeding on the road through Minskip and that Ferrensby is also beginning to see more responsible driving. These roads are safer due to the actions of the police and residents through increased monitoring of speeding and regular speed camera use.
Sadly, we have not yet seen any such reduction in speeding within Staveley. Neither have we had the benefit of speed cameras to act as a deterrent, as a way of encouraging drivers to be more considerate whilst driving through our village and therefore reducing the risk of accidents.
We are all able to report instances of bad driving to the police. The following link is available to the public and, when used appropriately, is a helpful tool in reducing road accidents. If you have witnessed antisocial driving or poor driving, you can contact Op Spartan by completing the Driving Concern Form . If you have video footage of any antisocal or dangerous driving that you would like to submit to Op Spartan, please send via a file transfer service (such as WeTransfer or Dropbox) to OpSpartan@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
Please consider your fellow residents and their families as you drive through the village by complying with the speed limits and where appropriate, using the link to report dangerous driving too.
