Playground Inspection – Weekly

In addition to the annual and quarterly inspections carried out by contractors, the childrens’ play area is subject to a weekly visual inspection by a group of local volunteers. This inspection asks the following questions:

General

  • A. Is the site free of litter, graffiti or other hazardous items
  • B. Do the gates open and close properly
  • C. Is the fence undamaged
  • D. Are all signs present and in good order
  • E. Are all benches present and in good order
  • F. Are all litter bins undamaged
  • G. Is the path free from hazards
  • H. Is the play area surface free fromprotrusions and trip hazards

Equipment

  • I. Goal Posts: Are the posts stable and secure
  • J. Roundabout: Is the metalwork and seating in good condition
  • K. Climbing apparatus/slide: Is the metalwork and seating in good condition
  • L. Climbing apparatus/slide: Is the metalwork and seating in good condition
  • M. Seat Swings: Is the metalwork and seating in good condition
  • N. See Saw: Is the metalwork and seating in good condition
  • O. Car: Is the plastic structure and seating in good condition
  • P. Fish: Is the plastic structure and seating in good condition
  • Q. All: is equipment free from bird fouling or graffiti
