Football Taster Day for 6-16 year olds in Boroughbridge

Boroughbridge Junior Football Club Free Taster Day
Saturday 24 July 2021, 10am – 12.30pm
Boroughbridge High School

Players of all abilities are welcome. The session is open to boys and girls of all abilities aged six to 16 years. Players new and old will able to take part in supervised games and sessions run by FA-qualified coaches.

Coaches and helpers from the club will be on hand to answer any questions and refreshments will be available on the day.

Covid Vaccination- Pop up Clinics

 Pop up clinics offer Covid vaccination jabs without appointment this weekend
 

  • HARROGATE – Wesley Centre, Oxford Street on Saturday 17th between 10am and 4pm (first dose Pfizer clinic for anyone aged 18 and over). 
  • KNARESBOROUGH – Vaccination centre (former Lidl site), York Road on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th between 9am and 5pm (first dose Moderna clinic for anyone aged 18 and over). 
  • PATELEY BRIDGE – Memorial Hall, Park Road on Saturday 17th from 8am to 5.50pm (first and second Pfizer clinic for anyone aged 18 and over)

The public consultation runs until 5 August 2021 and you can provide your views by either responding to the short online survey, or downloading, completing and returning a form – which can be found here.
There are online briefings on the changes proposed when any questions can be raised. The North Yorkshire session is on 20 July (3pm-4.30pm) and you can register here

Fancy a game of bowls?

Black Swan Bowling Club, new changing

Black Swan Bowling Club at Devonshire Place, Harrogate are holding Try Bowls events every Tuesday at 11am from Tuesday 20 July.
You can go along and have a drink and a cake, meet some of the club members and Try Bowls all for free. Individuals and/or groups are all welcome – just contact Dave Rowson, Secretary blackswanbowlingclub@gmail.com to book a place or to discuss further.
 
If you cannot make a Tuesday (or don’t fancy a free drink and cake!), the club also holds a social bowling afternoon at 12pm on Wednesdays so anyone is welcome to pop along and meet members of the club and Try Bowls for free then (they’ll still offer you a drink too!).

The Jo Cox Foundation and the Connection Coalition have partnered with WhatsApp on a new Loneliness Advice chatbot messaging service, which gives people experiencing loneliness easy and secure access to advice, support and information.

The WhatsApp messaging chatbot is simple to use. Just add 07902 922 908 to your WhatsApp contacts, and then send a message saying ‘hi’ to bring up a menu featuring information and resources from organisations including Marmalade Trust, the Campaign to End Loneliness, Age UK, The Mix, The British Red Cross and the #LetsTalkLoneliness campaign.
